APAMEIA Journal is an international academic journal published twice a year (in June and December) that operates a double-blind peer-review process. The journal serves as a platform for the publication of original research articles in various fields of the social sciences and accepts manuscripts formatted in accordance with academic writing standards.
Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal’s writing and formatting guidelines. The manuscript file should not include the author’s name, institutional affiliation, or ORCID number; these details should be provided only in a separate file titled “Title Page.” The similarity index (excluding references) must not exceed 15% for all submissions. For manuscripts derived from theses, a similarity rate of up to 20% is acceptable. Similarity reports (via iThenticate or Turnitin) must be uploaded to the system at the time of submission.
Articles may be written in either Turkish or English. Turkish manuscripts should adhere to the Turkish Language Association’s Writing Guide, while English manuscripts must follow the conventions of academic English writing. The language should be clear, objective, and academic, avoiding personal expressions and colloquial language.
Manuscripts should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words in length (excluding appendices but including tables, figures, and references). Supplementary materials such as survey forms or additional analyses that cannot be integrated into the main text should be presented under the heading “Appendix” with sequential numbering and descriptive titles.
- Manuscripts must be prepared on A4-sized paper with the following page layout: top margin 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 3 cm, and right 2.5 cm. Text should be justified, with each paragraph indented 1.25 cm, line spacing set to 1.5, and 6 pt spacing between paragraphs. Authors should not include page numbers; these will be added by the editorial office during typesetting.
- The entire manuscript should use the Cambria font. The main text should be 12 pt, while main headings should be bold 14 pt, and subheadings bold 12 pt. Direct quotations, footnotes, and table or figure text should be in a smaller size (10–11 pt). Italics or boldface should be used sparingly for emphasis, and text color should be black.
- Titles should be concise, clear, and reflect the content of the study, not exceeding 12 words.
- Each article should include an abstract of 150–250 words summarizing the study’s aim, method, findings, and conclusions. Following the abstract, three to five keywords should be listed. Turkish articles must include English titles, abstracts, and keywords; English articles must include Turkish equivalents.
- The main body of the manuscript should consist of the following sections: Introduction, Method, Findings, Conclusion and Discussion, and References. The Introduction should explain the aim, scope, and significance of the research. The Method section should describe the research model, data collection techniques, and analysis process. The Findings should be presented clearly, systematically, and objectively, supported by tables and figures when necessary. The Conclusion and Discussion should interpret findings in relation to the literature and present general conclusions and recommendations.
- Tables and figures should be inserted at appropriate points in the text, numbered sequentially, and accompanied by descriptive titles. Table titles should be placed above the table, while figure titles should appear below. Figures must be of high resolution (at least 300 dpi), and text within them should be legible. Tables should use only horizontal lines—vertical lines should be avoided. Each table and figure must be referenced within the text (e.g., “see Table 2” or “as shown in Figure 3”).
- The journal employs the APA 7 citation style. In-text citations should follow the format (Author, Year), with page numbers provided for direct quotations (Author, Year, p. X). The reference list should appear at the end of the manuscript under the heading “References”, arranged alphabetically by the author’s surname. DOI numbers should be included whenever available.
- Footnotes should be used only when absolutely necessary and kept brief. Excessive use of footnotes within the text should be avoided.
Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s formatting and writing guidelines will not be considered for evaluation at the preliminary review stage.
